Birding in Florida

Dave Gosney

Florida, the Sunshine State, is a superb place to look for birds. The Everglades National park includes vast areas of marshland, ideal for waterbirds, the Florida Keys offer species with a real Carribean flavour and the Dry Tortugas are the temporary home of thousands of nesting sea-birds and dozens of gorgeous-looking migrants. What makes Florida even more special is not only that many of its birds are found nowhere else in North America but also they are often exceptionally tame providing fantastic opportunities for film-making.

  • Close-up footage of over 80 of Florida's most exciting birds. Gorgeous shots of Snail Kites hunting and feeding over an Everglades marsh. Remarkable footage of Anhingas including one swimming underwater. Stunning close-ups of gorgeous migrants such as American Redstart, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Cape May Warbler and plenty more. Raptors galore such as frame-filling Ospreys, Black Vultures and Red-shouldered Hawks plus exquisite Swallow-tailed Kites. Fabulous seabirds such as Noddies, Sooty Terns, Brown Pelicans and Magnificent Frigatebirds. Many more Florida specialities such as Limpkin, White-crowned Pigeon, Spotted Oriole, Gray Kingbird, Black-whiskered Vireo and others
