A collection of bird sounds equivalent to 27 audio CDs. Covers 1000 out of 1200 bird species that are found in Southern South America (the "Southern Cone"). This number is close to the total of bird species that are likely to be found in the region, considering that about 100 species are pelagic birds and/or rare and very difficult to record and/or observe (except at their breeding colonies on remote islands of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans). There are also over 3000 photos of 850 species. Countries and/or regions represented in this work are: Argentina (AR), Chile (CH), Paraguay (PY), Uruguay (UY), Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil: BR), the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Atlantic Islands.

The material presented is mainly intended for use in the field with basic equipment like iPODs, iPhones, cell phones and other mp3 players.

Please note that this CD-ROM is a collection of sounds and photographs stored in (well-named and well structured) folders on the CD-ROM - there is no associated application with the CD-ROM that adds any additional value to the product. Users will need to explore the contents of the disk using the operational capabilities of their respective computers. There is an application (for Windows-based PCs) on the disk but users should be aware that it does little more than offer a nicer looking front menu and little beyond that. The disk is as easy to access on a Mac as it is on a PC.
