Dragonflies and Damselflies of Britain and Western Europe: A Field Guide
Jean-Pierre Boudot et al
This is a very fine photographic guide to all the Odonates of Britain and Western Europe.
Photographic and at an advanced level, this book contains keys, first-class photography, and highlights to key identification criteria in the adults.
Very unusually, nymphs are also afforded this treatment, making this a truly unique resource for anyone interested in freshwater ecology. There are also detailed diagrams of wing venation - crucial for some identifications, rarely covered in other guides (and never with this sort of clarity) - and plates showing confusion abdomens, a superb resource.
Visually very impressive, this will be a must-have for Britain's army of dragonfly-watchers. 160 pages.
